Disney’s new CEO Bob Iger sent an email out to Magic Key Holders on Wednesday, December 21 expressing his gratitude ‘to the biggest Disney fans in the world.’

Iger detailed his visit to Disneyland earlier this month to watch the Candlelight Processional, an annual tradition at the parks since 1958.

‘It was invigorating to be surrounded by so many guests who make what we do possible,’ adding that he and the rest of the Disney company ‘love’ the passion and enthusiasm.

‘We will continue to do our best to exceed your highest expectation,’ he wrote.

Iger pointed out Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary next year, adding that they are looking forward to celebrating the ‘groundbreaking moments’ and ‘cherished memories’ that made Disney a beloved name in the entertainment world.

Iger wrote that D23 will launch a number of events to mark the 100th milestone, linking the site.

He called it an ‘extraordinary privilege to lead this remarkable company again’ and expressed his gratitude to the Magic Key holders.

‘Looking at all the opportunities ahead, I can honestly say there has never been a better time to be a Disney fan,’ he wrote.

‘On behalf of all of us at The Walt Disney Company, I wish you a wonderful holiday season and a very happy and prosperous New Year,’ he wrote, signing the email.

Iger was named Disney’s CEO last month – in a role that will last two years – after Bob Chapek stepped down.

Iger, 71, stepped down as CEO in February 2020 after 15 years in the position, with Chapek, 62, filling the role.
