EPCOT recently unveiled its newest attraction, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Disney fans are loving it! But now fans are starting to shift their attention to a new attraction making its way to EPCOT. And now we even have an opening date for the up and coming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction!

The Cosmic Rewind attraction has been in development for quite some time as a part of EPCOT’s whole park enhancement. The attractions will be a part of a new area, now known as World Discovery.

We first learned of the attraction during the 2019 D23 Expo. As it was first presented, this is was Disney had to say about the attraction:

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will feature the first reverse launch into space! The thrilling, family-friendly attraction will feature a never-before-seen storytelling coaster that rotates to focus on the action – wherever it may be.

In mid to late 2020, we got not only a glimpse of the ride vehicle but how the attraction will operate. Cosmic Rewind will be the first of what’s known as the Omnicoaster. What this means is that the ride vehicles will rotate a full 360 degrees while in motion. That’s not all though, this attraction will also begin with a reverse launch!

Disney Imagineers have been hard at work to complete this massive attraction. And once completed, Cosmic Rewind will be noted as one of the longest enclosed coasters in the world!

All of that hard work will surely be paid off when Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens in 2022. No officially date has been announced, but we will surely keep you updated as this attraction continues to develop.
