The most magical time of the year is on its way, and Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort looks a little different this year. With the addition of a be separately ticketed Merriest Nites events and the new Genie+ service, what exactly can we expect this holiday season? And can we expect the return of the Candlelight Processional?

It was announced recently that EPCOT will welcome back their Candlelight Processional. The Processional will be welcomed back as a part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

Disney released a few details about the Candlelight Processional:
“Candlelight Processional” is a long-standing Disney Parks tradition, dating back to 1958 at Disneyland park. Walt Disney World guests have enjoyed the annual “Candlelight Processional” since 1971, initially at Magic Kingdom Park and since 1994 at EPCOT. After being greatly missed during last year’s holiday season, this magnificent production will once again grace the America Gardens Theatre with a live orchestra, cast choir, and celebrity narrator retelling the traditional Christmas story in spectacular and heartwarming fashion.
All who are participating in the performance will need to be fully vaccinated. This includes the special celebrity narrators. And instead of inviting singers from schools and choral groups in the area, Walt Disney World will be using and expanding their Cast Member choir.
We hope that the announcement of Disneyland bringing back their Candlelight Processional will follow – especially if they plan to use the same health and safety measures as EPCOT’s performances. This nighttime holiday tradition will take place on select evenings from November 26 through December 30, 2021 at EPCOT.
