Halloween time at the Disneyland Resort is in full swing and Guests are having a spooktacular time!

After a year without all the trappings of the Halloween season, it’s been great to see all of the familiar decor and seasonal sightings Disney fans are used to.

Credit: dorkyparksdad

Another great thing is all the specialty eats and treats that come around this time of year! However, one of them has stood out so much that it is selling out daily!

This Oogie Boogie Macaron, when available, can be found at the Fiddler, Fifer, & Practical inside of Disney California Adventure. This treat is a black macaron filled with green apple buttercream, caramel, brownies, cookie crumb dust and gummy candy. To make this treat even better, stamped on top is a depiction of Oogie Boogie as the “shadow in the moon at night”.

Credit: Disney

So why exactly is this selling out day-in and day-out? It could be because of how delicious and sweet it is. Or it’s because of how awesome it looks! It is also a new menu item this year, so the feeling of exclusivity is higher. We have to admit, the detailing of this macaron is pretty incredible!

If you don’t end up getting your hands on this specialty macaron, there is another option you might like.

Inside Disneyland Park, if you head over to the Jolly Holiday Bakery, you can find a delicious Mummy Macaron. It’s filled with cookies and cream filling and drizzled in white chocolate and it so good!

If you happen to make your way towards Tomorrowland, stop by the Pizza Planet for a different kind of macaron. This Vampire Alien Macaron is almost as vibrant as it is delicious!

So whether you are able to get your hands on the Oogie Boogie Macaron or not, there are plenty of yummy and festive treats to choose from!

Recently, the Disneyland Resort welcomed back fan favorite, the Dapper Dans! And with multiple performances throughout the day, could more live performances be on the way?

Credit: dorkyparksdad

So far, the resort has welcomed back character cavalcades and small musical groups in the parks. But, the big question on everyone’s mind are when can we expect shows and parades?

Credit: dorkyparksdad

With the start of the separately tickets a Oogie Boogie Bash, Guests of this event we’re treated to the Frightfully Fun Parade. This parade does 2 showings during the Halloween Party nights.

Credit: dorkyparksdad

Now, we’ve learned with the new separately ticketed Merriest Nites events, that Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy A Christmas Fantasy Parade. As far as we know, this will not be made available to the public during normal operation hours. But in its place, possibly a Santa Claus and Mickey and Minnie cavalcade.

Credit: dorkyparksdad

But if crowd control is what the Disneyland Resort is concerned about, couldn’t they schedule future show times and parades during low volume days, while still keeping up with health and safety protocol.

Parades & Shows at WDW

At the Walt Disney World Resort, shows have been making phased reappearances.

Credit: dorkyparksdad

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they welcomed back Beauty and the Beast Live, with some health and safety modifications. All characters are keeping safe distance. And groups of guests are spaced safely as well in the theatre.

Quite recently the Walt Disney World Resort announced they were welcoming back and updated Finding Nemo the Musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Credit: dorkyparksdad

It’s possible that Disney is testing these measures and practices to see how they would work at the Disneyland Resort. So that hopefully we could bring back fan favorites like Mickey and the Magical Map and the Magic Happens parade. Only time will tell, but we will keep you updated on the latest!

What show or parade would you like to see return to the Disneyland Resort? Let us know in the comments!

The new Haunting of Hill House maze was a-maze-ing! This new experience was such a hit and filled with so many scares and spooks! You definitely have to experience this maze.

The “Beetlejuice” maze was a lot of fun and entertaining. The wait time said 75 minutes, but we utilized the express pass and didn’t have to wait long at all!

What I love most about Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando, is that there is no filming allowed inside their mazes. This really makes your focus on and appreciate the overall experience more!

Now that the spooky season is upon us, there are plenty of Halloween photo opportunities. With the Muppets Haunted Mansion special coming soon to Disney+, there is a special photo op with some familiar ghost-like faces.

Speaking of the Haunted Mansion, they even have a photo backdrop depicting the new gingerbread house that will be in the dining room scene of the attraction’s holiday overlay!

One of the better photo opportunities is a socially distanced Halloween photo with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Both of which are in Halloween costumes.

The second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 is here and it’s a really good one!

Credit: Marvel Studios

I had the amazing opportunity to see “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” at CGV Cinemas in Buena Park, and on a stunning 4DX screen, and hosted by our friend Kristen (@thehappiestclubonearth). As guests for this special screening, we also got to see and meet some masters of martial arts, Wong’s Gong Fu.

Credit: dorkyparksdad

Marvel Studios gives a quick overview of the film:

Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings” stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The film also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng.

Dorky Dad Review:

The film ties in perfectly with the way Phase Four has been unfolding. The comedic scenes were very entertaining without being too much to take away from the story. The pacing of this movie is action packed! It does not slow down and just keeps delivering on action and entertainment. Awkwafina’s character was excellent and she was responsible for some of my favorite moments throughout the film.

*Dorky Dad Tip*- Make sure you stay after the film credits, because there’s not 1 but 2 end credit scenes! Trust me, you’re going to want to stay for both!

Credit: dorkyparksdad

All in all, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” is a must see! And if you are able to catch this film in a CGV Cinema with a 4DX screen, I highly recommend it!

Will you be seeing Marvel’s “Shang-Chi” in theaters? Let us know in the comments!
