Din Tai Fung, one of the newest restaurants coming to Downtown Disney, is holding a soft opening next week!

The new Downtown Disney location will host a soft opening beginning June 24 and will be open by reservation only for limited menu service from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time. The restaurant will have an official grand opening in July.

Din Tai Fung have plenty of locations throughout Southern California, including in Torrance, San Diego, and Costa Mesa, but those are typically located within malls or other shopping plazas.
The new 7,500-square-foot restaurant will be the only freestanding Din Tai Fung (DTF) location built from the ground up, infused with architectural and design elements that pay homage to the companyโs Taiwanese heritage.

The new restaurantโs exterior is a dramatic, contemporary take on a traditional Chinese pavilion rooftop structure. A suspended, beaded installation over the circular central bar greets guests upon entering the restaurant, with traditional-style Chinese pendants softly illuminating the space. An expo kitchen will serve as a backdrop, inviting guests to witness the artistry behind the dumpling-making process firsthand.

The internationally acclaimed Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings chain is a wonderful new option in Downtown Disney.
The family-owned restaurant also has international locations in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Korea.

Merchandise
In addition, as part of the opening, Din Tai Fung is releasing its first-ever collections of apparel and accessories! The collection is inspired by the companyโs Taiwanese origins and their mascot, Bao Bao.

The first collection, titled DTF Essentials, is composed ofstreetwear-inspired apparel featuring an embroidered image of the original Din Tai Fung storefront in Taiwan.

The company will also be launching sets of three collectible enamel pins, to be released later this summer in the collectionโs second drop.
The new merchandise will only be available at the chainโs Downtown Disney location.
We look forward to dining here soon! Stay tuned for a future post showcasing our dining experience.
