Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood officially opened on Friday, February 17, 2023.
Shigeru Miyamoto, the Representative Director and Fellow, Nintendo Co. Ltd. and Scott Strobl, Executive Vice President & General Manager were on hand to officially open the new land, as well as characters Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach.
‘Today’s grand opening of Super Nintendo World is very exciting, and we are thrilled to share it with our team members, fans and guests who have been enthusiastically waiting for this day to arrive,’ Scott said in an official statement.
‘This is truly one of the most dynamic moments in the history of Universal Studios Hollywood, and we are very proud of our partnership with Nintendo to bring to life a new genre of highly immersive, next level interactive theme park entertainment.’
Super Nintendo World includes the groundbreaking Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge ride, plus Toadstool Cafe featuring a variety of food, as well as 1-UP Factory for shopping within the Mushroom Kingdom.
Guests can purchase a Power-Up Band for an interactive experience within the land.
Universal Studios Hollywood hosted a preview of the land one day prior, with a delicious array of treats to try too as well as a closer look at the new land.
Toadstool Cafe includes signature dishes like Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger, Block Tiramisu and Princess Peach Cupcake.
Alcohol is not sold within Super Nintendo World.
Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach were on hand to greet guests.
Two days before the official opening, Universal Studios Hollywood rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the new land.
Super Nintendo World is located inside Universal Studios Hollywood in Universal City, California.
