Marvel’s God of Thunder returns to movie theaters this weekend!

Thor: Love and Thunder sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Taika Waititi as Korg. We also get to see Russell Crowe as Zeus and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher.

Thor stands tall as one of the MCU’s longest-running and most beloved characters. He’s already been in four Avengers movies and this is his fourth solo film.

Keep reading below to see what we thought in our spoiler-free movie review, but first, let’s take a closer look at the incredible Mjölnir popcorn bucket!

For a limited time, AMC Theatres is selling a replica of Thor’s hammer as a decorative popcorn bucket.

The Mjölnir popcorn bucket costs $39.99, and you also get a large serving of popcorn for that price. It’s a cool souvenir item to bring home! Now that we have our popcorn, let’s discuss the movie.

One of the hardest elements of a story to nail is balancing heart and humor, however, Taika Waititi seems to have pulled off something truly special to master both.

The story is full of emotion and takes Thor on a journey to discover his new path in life. Even though Taika Waititi brings back the humor and spirit of fun from Thor’s last solo film in 2017, the director does address the great losses Hemsworth has endured since that time. He has gone through success, love, tragic loss, regret, grief, and depression. Thor has been mentally recovering while being with the Guardians of the Galaxy since the ending of Avengers: Endgame. However, Thor finds him called back into action and embarking upon a new mission once this story starts moving.

There are lots of fun little details in Thor: Love and Thunder, so keep your eyes open. It’s more emotional than Thor: Rangarok, but both films have a really great sense of humor & the best side characters (such as Korg and the goats!).

Cristian Bale is amazing as Gorr the God Butcher. His character performance adds weight and emotion to story, plus he’s a villain we can feel sympathy for, which helps make Gorr a great MCU villain.

It might surprise some readers, but we thought Love and Thunder is the best movie so far for showcasing the romance between Thor and Jane Foster. The story better defines the chemistry between the two.

Without giving specifics, I also enjoyed the new mythos and characters introduced to the MCU in this movie.

Though not a perfect movie, it is quite a fun adventure to watch. It’s entertaining and will delight MCU fans who enjoyed previous films such as Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy.

We certainly enjoyed it and plan on rewatching Thor: Love and Thunder!

If you’re planning on visiting Disneyland, then keep your eyes peeled!

For a limited time, Jane Foster, taking up the mantle of Mighty Thor, roams the grounds of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park, encountering recruits and occasionally challenging others to test their worthiness with Mjölnir.
