Back in April of 2019, Disneyland announced a new ride opening in Mickey’s Toontown come 2022. Due to to the pandemic, the opening was pushed to 2023.
Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, however, has opened their same ride back in early March of 2020 before the pandemic forced the parks to close. I had the chance to experience the ride when it opened there. As with the new rides that Disney Parks have recently offered to the public, it is trackless. The ride itself is designed for everyone. As I’ve always described it, it’s a kid’s Rise of the Resistance. It’s amazing, don’t get me wrong. I always enjoy that ride. Being a Disney Adult, I’ve ridden it by myself a few times.
Starting March 9th, Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland will close. It will reopen early 2023 alongside a new attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. A lot of areas will be reimagined for this beloved land. One new area coming to Mickey’s Toontown is CenTOONial Park which features a fountain designed for play and will also be the center of Mickey’s Toontown.
Mickey’s Toontown will still be home to many beloved characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and more.
