Love is in the air! February welcomes back one of our favorite Disneyland After Dark events, Sweethearts’ Nite! This year, both Cafe Orleans and Plaza Inn are offering special event dining menus. Guests who have valid tickets to Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite have the opportunity to join the mobile walk up list at 8pm to dine on the same date of their special event tickets.
Cafe Orleans offers a 3-course Creole feast at the price of $50, tax and gratuity are not included. Join us in taking a look at the offerings and our thoughts on this dining package.

Choice of one (1) starter, entree, dessert, and beverage are included.

We of course had to go with a Mint Julep as our beverage. This is included with the meal!
Starters

The first starter we tried was the plant- based Ratatouille Crostini. This presents grilled vegetables on top a dense slice of bread with a fresh tomato salad and aged balsamic.

Grilled onion, zucchini, and squash were hidden under the tomato salad. This was a great plant-based starter. A light dish with strong fresh flavors while being decently sized. If you’re thinking about getting the salad, you might as well give this a go.

The second starter we tried was the cup of Chicken Gumbo. On a cold night like February 1st, this gumbo will hit the spot. Hearty flavors blend together for a rich textured dish. The chicken and andouille sausage were both great protein additions while being cooked perfectly.

The rice in this dish helps bring everything together. We would recommend this option as our first when it comes to the starters we tried.
Entree

Per our servers recommendation, we went with the Blue Cheese-crusted Flat Iron Steak as our entree. This dish includes balsamic-glazed Brussels Sprouts, Pommes Frites, and Cherry Demi.

I will have to agree with our server that this entree option is probably the best bang for your buck. The steak was juicy and cooked perfectly. The cut was very clean and the blue cheese on top complimented the meat perfectly. The famous Pommes Frites are always great and the Brussel Sprouts were a tasty, crunchy, vegetable addition.
Dessert

Since we were so full from a day full of snacks and gumbo, we decided to bring the Cream Puff dessert option home in a box with us. This is the only dessert available on this special menu, we don’t mind though. It’s a dense pastry shell with a vanilla creme and strawberry filling. Chocolate sauce comes on the side for your own discretion. Overall, this a great dessert!

With our boxes all ready, it’s time for our meal to come to an end. For the price point, this special dinning event is a great way to enhance your romantic night at Disneyland. The menu has excellent options and all of the food we tried was of great quality and taste. Service was amazing as always and there is no better way to spend an evening than at Cafe Orleans.
Thank you for reading along and we hope you enjoy your Sweethearts’ Nite! Let us know what you look forward to trying in the comments below!
