Disney parks just unveiled its brand new mobile service to help plan your best day ever!
The new Genie service is built right into your park’s mobile app. The service will help build personalized itinerary that maps out a full day at the parks. Said itinerary will update throughout the day so you can adjust and enjoy new and different attractions and experiences on-the-go.
What is the Genie Service?
The Genie service will even save your favorites and customize suggestions just for you. So say, you love Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and the wait time just changed to only a 15 minute, Genie will suggest going to visit the attraction now while the wait time is still low!
Genie also still has all the features of your regular Disneyland or My Disney Experience app. This means you can still mobile order and check dining reservations, and even join virtual queues.
In addition to these similar features, there is one new option that might feel a bit familiar.
Genie+ Service-
Guests have the option to purchase the Genie+ service (Disneyland: $20, Walt Disney World: $15). The option offers the use of the new Lightning Lane entrances. Disney claims this new service will act as the next step up from the former Disneyland MaxPass. Guests will choose the next available time to arrive at a selection of attractions using the Lightning Lane. Guests who choose this option will also give access to special photo features.
For individual attractions, Guests can schedule up to 2 E-ticket attractions each day using the Lightning Lane. This will be a separate purchase and pricing will be determined by the park and day.
When using the Lightning Lane, you will be able to choose attractions the day of your visit. Also, you can make these selections across parks, which makes it perfect for those who love to park hop!
The all new Genie mobile service will debut this fall!

While I’m glad that some version of a Fastpass is coming back, I’m really disappointed that there are more fees involved. It’s starting to feel a bit like Spirit Airlines over here….
